Pre-Professional Company

Audition Required

This pre-professional program is an intensive learning environment that is fast-paced and includes ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, musical theatre, and acting.  This experience is offered twice per week. Students are directly mentored and taught by Artistic Director, Lyrric Jackson and should plan to be present for all sessions unless otherwise discussed.

The classes below are only offered to active LJDC Company Members.

Should you become inactive for two consecutive sessions, you will be required to audition for admission to the program.

Ballet.

Ballet classes will provide students with the fundamentals of ballet beginning with positions, placement, terminology, and proper stretching habits. Students that wish to take pre-pointe and pointe classes must undergo a preliminary evaluation. These classes are only offered to students that have successfully passed the evaluation process and are approved by the Artistic Director.

This class requires admission to the Pre-Professional program before you can register.

JAZZ Hip Hop Hybrid.

Hybrid classes draw from both Jazz dance styles and contemporary hip-hop/social dance styles that emphasize precision and musicality. Classes begin with pop-culture-inspired warm-ups, progress to rhythm and step-based skill building in the center of the room, and end with traveling across the floor. Students will also learn choreography and practice improvisation. This class is on hold until the Spring.
